The Project-Part One • WHAT THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN: • -HOW TO PROPERLY CONDUCT RESEARCH • -INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES TO OBTAIN INTERESTING AND RELAVENT INFORMATION (SEPARATE LESSON PLAN) • -WORKING TOGETHER AS TEAM MEMBERS • HOW THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN • -STUDENTS ARE ASSIGNED INTO GROUPS OF THREE EACH. THEY ARE ASSIGNED TO RESEARCH THE HOMELESS ENVIRONMENT IN THE MEMPHIS CITY SCHOOL SYSTEM AND IN THE GENERAL POPULATION. • PART OF THE ASSIGNMENT IS TO INTERVIEW (OFF MIC FOR RESEARCH ONLY) MS. DELORES FLAFF, DIRECTOR OF THE HOMELESS INITIATIVE IN THE MCS DISTRICT. • INFORMATION GATHERED WILL BE USED TO INITIATE A PUBLIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN
The Project-Part Two • (WHAT THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN) • PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES (USE OF AUDIO SOFTWARE, ADOBE 1.5) • DEMOGRAPHIC TARGETING • BROADCAST WRITING TECHNIQUES • (HOW THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN) • INSTRUCTOR IN SEPARATE LESSON PLANS DEMONSTRATES THE USE OF AUDIO SOFTWARE. • INSTRUCTOR IN SEPARATE LESSON PLANS DEMONSTRATES EFFECTIVE BROADCAST WRITING • STUDENTS WILL CONCEPTUALIZE, WRITE, AND PRODUCE A 30 AND 60-SECOND PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT PROMOTING THE “BROTHER CAN YOU SPARE A DIME” CAMPAIGN

Teachers should now what their responsibilities are. • Rubrics that will be needed • You are the facilitator. You have to let the students work out solutions.
