  2. Adams TownshipVolunteer Fire Company $ 3,500 Grant Activity: Develop and post recruitment signage Recruitment - Conducted a community open house Retention – provided logo wear for service performance Result: 1 new firefighter 1 new support firefighters

  3. Alert Volunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Various marketing and advertising items were obtained Recruitment items placed in high travelled locations in the community Result: 4 new firefighters 2 new junior firefighters

  4. Bendersville Community Fire Department $5,000 Grant Activity: Create and release new website with retention focus Use Fitness spotlight as a R&R plan Marketing & advertising materials Result: The program is just implemented and too early for results

  5. Blue Rock RegionalFire Department $5,000 Grant Activity: vents to recruit members Result: 7 new firefighters 5 new support members

  6. BrooksideFire Company $6,986 Grant Activity: Upgrade fire station sign to include recruitment information Supplies, equipment, materials for use at public events to recruit members Result: 3 new firefighters 2 new junior firefighters

  7. Buchanan ValleyVolunteer Fire Department $5,000 Grant Activity: Develop and send bulk mailing to residents for recruitment, conduct open house and logo wear for use at events Result: 7 new firefighters

  8. www.helpfightfire.com Chester County Fire Chief’s Association $5,000 Grant Activity: Redesign of website Create recruitment videos to be placed on the homepage of the website. Create handouts used during recruitment events. Result: 10 new firefighters - countywide

  10. East PetersburgVolunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Purchase recruitment materials to be used as recruitment tools throughout 2018 and 2019. Purchased winter response bags for current members as retention incentives. Result: 51 firefighters continued service

  11. Fairview TownshipVolunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Retention of 8 members who have improved skills/knowledge via training/certification Result: 8 firefighters expanded skills and knowledge and continued service

  12. Garden Spot Fire Rescue $5,000 Grant Activity: Recruitment support items Retention awards and event Result: 10 new firefighters 6 new support members

  13. Highland Park Volunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Develop, print, and mass mail recruitment Posters and banners to be obtained and placed in high-profile locations for recruitment. Logo wear for those involved in recruitment Result: 10 to 15 new firefighters expected

  14. King of PrussiaVolunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Incentives provided to retain members, including logo wear and awards for service recognition Result: 65 firefighters continued service

  15. MillbourneFire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Recruitment materials developed & provided at public events Retention incentives included event, logo wear, gifts for service levels. Result: 2 new firefighters 1 new support member

  16. Reno Volunteer Fire Department $5,000 Grant Activity: Purchased signs to use for recruiting members Result: 4 new members - 3 for fundraising, 1 as secretary 1 new fire police

  17. South Fayette VolunteerFire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Purchased a tent with recruitment slogan printed on it for use at job fairs, community days and other public events. Produced recruitment video Develop and print recruitment brochures Result: The program is just begun and it is too early to determine results.

  18. 2018 FASP Recruitment and Retention Grant Program Summary $75,000 committed in grant money 16 fire/EMS agencies 58 firefighters, 2junior firefighters 1fire police and 16 active/support members. 124 continued service
