Site Ranking Throughout my internship with the Athletic Department, I have had a lot of responsibility put on my shoulders giving me the opportunity to learn and try different things. This has helped me learn more aspect of being a manager then I thought I could ever learn while in College. I believe that this has gotten me ready for the real world in more way then one. I gave this internship site a 4 out of 5 stars because it didn’t lead to any full time employment and I wish my supervisor would have given me larger projects to do once the semester started coming to an end.

Words of Wisdom I do not regret staying in College Station to continue working for the Athletic Department for my internship. In doing so, I got the opportunity to build stronger relationships with senior level executives and work on different aspects I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do if I had gone somewhere else. If you act like a full time employee and are responsible and professional, you will get treated like one and that is the best thing for someone still in college. Always make sure to have a smile on your face and say hello/introduce your self to everyone you meet.
Internship Objectives • Grow in the Junior Aggie Clubs awareness locally within the Bryan/College Station area in order to develop a stronger connection to young aggie fans • to increase membership numbers through the end of March; to break 1000 • Market Research: compare JAC to other Kids Clubs by price, package, and membership numbers and parent survey completion to see if increasing the price for next year would work • Prepare the administrative tasks for the next year; create new application, T-shirts, membership cards etc. and train new Coordinator
Daily Activities • Host weekly meetings with the JAC staff and Travis • Use Photoshop to do design work • Update the database • Create new ways to increase membership • Plan the various events for the JAC Members • Answer emails and phone calls
Project Description My Project for the semester had many different aspects. I have to prepare everything for the 2011-2012 Junior Aggie Club membership package. I have to use Photoshop to create a new membership card and get approval from Sports Properties, graphics, and Travis. I worked with John Carpenter in graphics to help come up with a completely new t-shirt design for next year. I decided to create two different applications; one to put online in a PDF like we have always had and the other to be more like a brochure and is more appealing to pass out at events but has the same information. I also took on planning a new event for a end of the year party to coincide with the Equestrian Big 12 Tournament called Spring Carnival. It worked extremely well. To increase membership before the year was over, I proposed a $35 incentive for any new family to sign up they would get all of this year and next year. We gained close to 80 new members just with this promotion. Overall, my project had many different little parts but ended up making the Junior Aggie Club more active in the Spring semester.
