World History/World Geography • A semester of World Geography and a semester of World History will not satisfy the combined World History/World Geography requirement. • The SBOE must adopt Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for a combined World History/World Geography course before this will be an option available to students. Foundation HS Program Speech • To receive a high school diploma, a student must demonstrate proficiency, as determined by the district in which the student is enrolled, in: • Delivering clear verbal messages; • Choosing effective nonverbal behaviors; • Listening for desired results; • Applying valid critical-thinking and problem-solving processes; • Identifying, analyzing, developing, and evaluating communication skills needed for professional and social success in interpersonal situations, group interactions, and personal and professional presentations. • Documentation of a student’s demonstrated proficiency must be included on the Academic Achievement Record (AAR). English I and English II EOC Performance Standards • Students not achieving Level II performance are considered to be at Level I: Unsatisfactory Academic Performance. • Pass rates for the phase-in 1, phase-in 2, and final recommended cut scores will be reported in the 2014 statewide test reports.
