Proposal for work in PPVPN Operation and Management • Starting point is draft-yacine-ppvpn-mgt-frwk-00.txt • Goal of final document is to lay out the building blocks and how they are inter-related without defining the details of each building block. Keeping this document at the architectural level. • Provide common infrastructure and view for managing multiple types of L2/L3 VPN. • Addresses section 5.2 in generic VPN requirements draft.

  3. Specific Areas of Future Work • Overall VPN MIB Architecture • High Level Information Structure • Customer Management (Client Functionalities, Scenarios) • Service OAM (defines the functions and corresponding interactions to lower layer OAM mechanisms, scenarios for provider and customer networks) • Provisioning, including static to dynamic usage.

  4. Next Steps for the Document • Have more working group input concerning the proposed areas of development. • Re-naming the document to Framework for VPN Operation and Management • Consideration as WG document to use this draft as a starting point for this work.
