Candidates who appeared in UGC NET Exam must know the procedure and criteria for declaration of result. Here in this presentation, we have shared detailed information about the UGC NET Result declaration procedure. Check the next slides
Step 1 – The total number of aspirants who will be qualified in the UGC NET Exam shall be equal to 6% of the number of aspirants who appeared in both the Papers of UGC NET. Step 2 – As per the reservation policy of Government of India, the total slots will be allocated to different categories.
Step 3 – The aspirants must have appeared in the UGC NET Exam for both the papers. It is also compulsory to secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers by the unreserved category candidates (5% relaxation for reserved category aspirants).
Step 4 – There is a methodology to declare an aspirant UGC NET qualified (for a particular category) for any subject. The methodology illustrated below: Total number of candidates who will be declared qualified for ‘Assistant Professor’ for only SC category = Candidates belong from SC Category who secure minimum 45% marks in UGC NET Exam for ‘Economics (X) Total slots derived for SC category _________________________________________________________ Total number of candidates belonging to Sc category over all subjects who secure at 35% marks in UGC NET
Step 5 – Candidates who applied for ‘Eligibility for JRF & Assistant Professor both’ shall constitute the consideration zone for JRF.

Step 6 – Number of candidates to be declared qualified for JRF & Assistant Professor both in the subject ‘Economics’ for the ST category = Number of candidates belonging to ST category who have opted for JRF and have qualified for Assistant Professor both & JRF both in subject “Economics” (X) Total JRF slots available for ST category __________________________________________________________A total number of candidates belonging to ST category over all subjects who have opted for JR and have qualified for Assistant professor both.
The aggregate percentage of both the paper's scores corresponding to the number of JRF slots arrived at, will determine the qualifying cut-off for JRF in ‘Economics’ for ST category. This process is similar for all subjects.
