Veronica M. Walters Wildlife and Fisheries Science Area of Concentration: Conservation Biology Tennessee Technological University Cookeville, TN
Statement of Major Concentration • The major that I have chosen is wildlife and fisheries science with a concentration in conservation biology. I chose this because it was of the most interest to me. I really like animals and I hope to find a job in this area. My step dad works at TVA and there is a program that I can enter after I get my degree. I want to do something that will always interest me because I do pot want to get stuck in a job that I have no interest in. TVA is a great place to work and I hope that a degree in wildlife and fisheries science will ensure me a spot in their program. If I cannot get a job there I am willing to go anywhere in the U.S. to work , just as long as it is in this field. I think most people want to stay close to home but I think the experience of living elsewhere would be fun because you get to meet new people , and see new places. I have changed my major a few times but this is one that I will stick with. This is why I have chosen wildlife and fisheries science as my major of interest.
Organizations/Clubs • The club I was most interested in was the conservation biology society. They try to do different things to help the environment and focus on several clean up projects. It makes the most sense to join a club that deals with the major that I am interested in which is conservation biology. They seem to be more opened minded about letting people join that have the same interest in the environment.
