Aim & Objectives Aim: to experience an assessment centre exercise. Objectives: By the end of the session you should be able to: • Explain what an assessment centre is and why they are used. • Describe what went well and what you could improve for next time following the assessment centre exercise.
What is an Assessment Centre? • A number of exercises designed to assess the full range of skills and personal attributes required for the job. • They may include: • Group activities • Delivering a presentation • E-tray exercises • Role plays • Tests
Why do companies hold assessment centres? • They are one of the most reliable methods of assessing candidates. • They offer a thorough, in-depth assessment. • They assess what candidates will actually do if selected, not just how good they are at interview.
