I was seduced by all the wonders of the world like a helpless tourist passing a traditional patisserie in the early morning, the smell of slightly-burned butter tempting one to look into the glass case, just for a peek at a pain chocolat. Experiences of a Lifetime “The day of commencement everyone wore his own cap and gown, and a sash of his home country … for me it was like a dream, because in Italy we don’t have any ceremony similar, and I had seen caps and gowns only in American TV shows! Walking on the stage and hearing my name called on the microphone was a real emotion! I was studying the way I perceived life; the life I was used to and the way I perceived life for me and for those who lived in other countries. 9. Experiences of a Lifetime “My year as an exchange student was one of the most important of my life, albeit one of the hardest. Since I was in college in the same town where I had grown up, it was truly my first experience being on my own. I think I must hold the world record for longest-serving ISEP Campus Coordinator, having started in this role at the University of Minnesota in 1981 and continuing in it at ODU for the last 12 years. I've been involved with ISEP for almost the entire time of its existence (longer even than Mary Anne), and I'm very pleased by its enduring success.
