Disposal with garbage is prohibited. Cellular phones contain hazardous components, and should not be place in the garbage cart. Go to Hennepin County A-Z Guide for additional information.If your wireless provider is AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon, the phone and battery to can be taken to one of their retail stores for recycling. AT&T will accept all brands of cell phones. The CALL TO PROTECT campaign collects wireless phones to benefit victims of domestic violence. Proceeds from the sale of phones help fund agencies that fight domestic violence and are also used to support the educational efforts of the Wireless Foundation.
