  2. Binomial Expansion-Numbers • We know (3 + 2)(6 + 4) = 5 x 10 = 50 • We can also do two lots of distributive law: • (3+2)(6+4) = 3x6 + 3x4 +2x6 +2x4 = 18 + 12 + 12 + 8 = 50

  3. Binomial Expansion • What is (k + 2)(k + 3) expanded? • This is two distributive law problems: • (k+2)(k+3) = kxk + kx3 +2xk +2x3 = k2 + 3k + 2k + 6 = k2 + 5k + 6

  4. Binomial Expansion • What is (k - 2)(2k + 5) expanded? • This is simply two distributive law problems: • (k-2)(2k+5) = kx2k + kx5 -2x2k -2x5 = 2k2 + 5k - 4k -10 = 2k2 + k - 10

  5. Binomial Expansion • What is (4m - 2)(3m - 5) expanded? • This is simply two distributive law problems: • (4m-2)(3m-5) = 4m x 3m + 4m x -5 -2 x 3m -2 x -5 = 12m2 -20m – 6m +10 = 12m2 -26m + 10
