  2. Galatians 5:18-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

  3. Background Galatians is a letter that Paul wrote to the early churches in the Roman Province of Galatia. In Chapter 5 Paul contrasts our life when we follow our desires to our life when we allow the Holy Spirit to have control.

  6. What does love mean? First there is Eros, which is a sensual love, a passionate love

  7. What does love mean? The next form of love was Philia and this is the warm fuzzy feeling we have for those nearest and dearest to us. This is friendship.

  8. What does love mean? Agape is less a feeling of the heart and more a feeling of the mind. It is as much an act of the will as an act of the emotions.
