Perinatal Periods of Risk (PPOR)5 Major Steps: • Engage community partners early to gain consensus and support. • Map feto-infant mortality by birthweight & age at death. • Focus on reducing the overall feto-infant mortality rate. • Examine potential opportunity gaps b/w population groups. • Target further investigations and prevention efforts on the gaps.
Community Partners • Involves the collaboration of many parts: • Mississippi State Health Department • March of Dimes (Jackson Chapter) • HMHB-JMA Coalition • MCH organizations at the community level.
