  5. Why KEYS? Make all schools high quality schools Increase student achievement for ALL students in ALL types of schools Create opportunities for association-district cooperation Give local associations VOICE

  6. Why KEYS? • Addresses the entire school system and all its variables • Collaboration among staff toward identified outcomes • Sense of purpose aligns with the work that schools do everyday • Validates the uniqueness of every school site

What is KEYS? • An Online Tool • Provides for research based change and data-driven decision making • Diagnoses strengths and problem areas on 42 conditions related to quality schools and high student achievement • Provides opportunities for ongoing action research • Provides baseline data and benchmarks for improvement • Includes current and relevant resources for continuous school improvement

What is KEYS? • A continuous Improvement Process • Deliberative and unique at each site • Designed to create the conditions for quality learning • Bottom up giving voice to the school staff, teachers and ESPs • Supports the school’s and district’s efforts to build internal capacity and accountability • A partnership between home, school and community

  10. KEYS and You! • The KEYS process puts the school staff in the drivers seat • The staff considers data, including the KEYS survey • The staff uses the data to develop School Improvement Plans • The plan incorporates measures that provide sufficient feedback to enable timely changes
