Old North Church Boston Mass
The Great Commission is given in each of the 4 gospels + Acts 1:8 and other places and tells US to GO
We have been given Much!! Luk_12:48 ………For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Introduction: How to give out the Gospel: • a. Pray without ceasing • b. There really is no single “Right” method to lead someone to the Lord
Great 1900’s Evangelist, D.L. Moody, used a method he called the 3 R’s: Reviled by Sin Redeemed by Christ Regenerated by the Holy Spirit
Billy Graham used what he calls his “4 Steps to Peace with God”: God’s Purpose: Peace and Life The Problem: Separation by Sin God’s Bridge: The Cross of Jesus Our Response: Receive Christ
Most Important: Give all 3 parts of the Gospel to them: That Christ Died for their Sins, was buried, and then rose from the dead on the third day. Gutenberg BibleLibrary of Congress
1Corinthians 15:1-4 Defines the Gospel Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Christ’s death on the cross fulfilled scripture that He died to pay the price for our sin.Isaiah 53:3-7 Psalm 22:6-18
The Difference between Christianity and all others is that Christ Paid our sin debt!
First, tell them what you were like before your salvation. Likely: • Sinful • Unfulfilled • Searching
Second tell them how you received Christ: • Gospel message delivered from a friend, tract, TV program etc. • How you judged yourself as a sinner. • How you accepted Christ’s payment for sin and asked Him to save you.
Third, tell them what differences you see after salvation: • Changes in your lifestyle. • Accepted and eternally secure. • Learning God’s purpose. Shepherd’s School Graduation 2001
Now I’M OK You’re OK
Our Position • Friendly • Caring • No agenda but to point them to Heaven NOT: • Judge or prosecutor • Not to build a church
How to present the Gospel: Quick prayer Ask: Do You Know FOR SURE that you are going to heaven? Listen carefully to the answer! Use 1 John 5:13
Step One – Sin Separates us from God Ask: When you stand before God and he asks: • Have you ever told a lie – How do you plead: Innocent or Guilty? • Have you ever taken something that was not yours? • Have you ever disobeyed your parents? ………..

Step Two: No Bridge reaches God Except One Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Step Three: God’s Bridge Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Step Four: Receive Christ Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. …. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Decision? Ask: Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died and was buried and rose from the dead to pay for your sins? If Yes- Ask: Would you like to pray with me to accept Him as your Savior?
Repentance Road For “Works” based religious people: Fast and Pray! 2 Peter 3:9 Luke 13: 3 Acts 17:30 Acts 3:19 Mark 4: 11 Luke 15:10
Other helpful verses: Ephesians chapter 2:1-9 lays out all of the key principals of Romans Road in one place. Acts chapter 8: 26-39 Acts 10:34-48 Peter clearly presents the Gospel to Gentiles
Preach both compassion and judgment • Jude 1:22-23 says that some get saved through compassion and others through fear. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
