  2. Lions – Over 100 years strong • 1917: Lions started in Chicago as a business club. • Melvin Jones thought business clubs should help their communities.

  3. Vision Statement forLions Clubs of Michigan The vision is to serve the needs of people in our communities, preserve sight and hearing through our existing state projects, new state projects, and partnerships with other organizations in the state of Michigan.

  4. Global Cause • Vision • Diabetes • Hunger • Environment • Childhood Cancer

  5. Lions Charge Lions should become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness… , … and hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness, no little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided.”
