  2. ECCD PROGRAM DEIGN, PAKISTAN 263 million children (ages 6-17) are out of school globally In Western Asia nine in ten out-of-school children live in conflict affected areas. Outcome 6 : Through provincial Task Force or committees implementation of ECCD is ensured across province. Outcome 1: ECCD graduated children demonstrating better learning abilities and results in primary school Almost 62 million of those children who are out of school live in conflict areas. OBJECTIVE: Increase access to Quality ECCD & Effective transition into formal schooling for Vulnerable & marginalized children. Outcome 2: District education departments establish ECCD centers and aware of ECE policy/ priorities of provincial governments Outcome 5: Plan's ECCD syllabus is recognized by the education department and used in public schools. Girls are the first to be excluded from education and of the 25 million children who will never start school, 15 million are girls. More than half of all out of school children live in sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia. Outcome 3 : Care Givers are trained on newly revised ECCD Syllabus Outcome 4 : Parents are trained to Work as primary care givers

PLAN INTERNATIONAL, ECCD HISTORY/ACHIEVEMENTS • An initial pilot project was implemented in 2002 in Chakwal and was up-scaled and expanded in the other districts in 2004 • Plan has been implementing ECCD programs in the Districts of Chakwal, Mansehra, Vehari, Thatta, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah and Islamabad to support ECCD services • Currently, in Pakistan, 519 Plan's established ECCD centres are operational and successfully handed over to concerned district education departments • In collaboration with DSD/QAED, developed ECE Teacher Guide that is implemented in more than 6,000 ECE Centers and in more that 10,000 ECE centers by May 2018. • Through an innovative Public Private Partnership, Plan has signed a MoU with the district government of Muzaffargarh in to establish 100 ECCD centers • Plan supported Sindh education department through Reform Support Unit (RSU) in developing the ECE policy that is approved and launched. • In Thatta district, community based ECE low cost model centerconstructed and presented to the Sindh government for replication. • Plan International Pakistan has also constructed98 ECCD rooms in Muzaffargarh, Layyah and Rajanpur.
