  6. Simple Subject he/she/it needs verb + s • Basically, • a good way to remember which verb to use is to decide if the subject is about one person or thing (he/she/it), and add an s to the verb. It can get more complicated, though…

Check • She and I arethe champions. <plural subject requires plural verb, just like “we”> • Bob and Chris eatmeat. <two people=plural subject, so plural verb fits> • Juan and I arein charge here. <two people=plural subject, so needs plural verb “are”> • Juan or I isin charge here. <the “or” is a signal that only 1 person is in charge at a time, so 1 person needs singular verb>
