  3. Why are we not more active? • Our society & culture have changed. The opportunity to move our bodies in our normal daily activities has decreased over the years.

  4. The benefits of physical activity help the whole family … • Handle stress better. • Sleep more soundly. • Feel more energetic. • Feel better about themselves. • Maintain healthy bones, musclesand joints. • Maintain a steady weight.

  13. Easy ways toadd movement to your day • Housework is a great way to move; make it more fun by adding music. • Work in the garden, or mow the grass using a push-mower. • Dance around the house for fun. • Go out for a short walk before breakfast or after dinner, or both.

  14. Easy ways to add movement to your day • Walk or bike to the corner store instead of driving. • Take the stairs instead of the elevator. • Park further away, and walk the extra distance to the door. • Walk the dog. • Play tag, frisbee, or other games with the children.
