TSI (Targeted Support and Improvement School) Identified With Criteria • One or more subgroups not meeting target(s) two years in a row on one or more measures within Academic Achievement Indicator (Math Proficiency and ELA proficiency) AND • One or more subgroups not meeting target(s) two years in a row within two or more remaining indicators: Growth (Math/ELA MGP/AGP),ELPA (WIDA AGP), or Student Engagement (Math/ELA Opportunity Gap, Chronic Absenteeism) • State monitored for progress

SPP Goal #1 Math Billinghurst Middle School will increase overall math Adequate Growth Percentile by 4-6 (Results=3)percentage points of students meeting state catch up/ keep targets using 2019 SBAC assessment. Specific targets include: Whole school adequate growth from 42 to 47 Results=45 EL subgroup from 4 to 9 Results=16 IEP subgroup from 12 to 17 Results=6

SPP Goal #2 ELA Billinghurst Middle School will increase overall ELA Adequate Growth Percentile by 4-6 (Results=5) percentage points of students meeting state catch up/ keep targets using 2019 SBAC assessment. Specific targets include: Whole school adequate growth from 55 to 60 Results=60 EL subgroup from 4 to 9 Results=6 IEP subgroup from 13 to 18 Results=14

  9. SPP Goal #3 Two days per week, at least three weeks per month (in a full 4-week month), teachers will deliver lessons that focus on Social and Emotional Learning. Students will report an increase based on a school generated survey. Survey will show an increase in student perceived readiness from Fall to Spring. • Results= Outperformed District and middle school averages in all 8 SEL skill components. • Increase in percentage points with an average of 1% in 4 of 8 components. • Decrease in percentage points with an average of 1% in 3 of 8 components. • No change in 1 of eight components.

Comprehensive Needs Assessment An administrative review of the site based needs assessment reveals that there are specific needs for administrative: • Monitoring of instructional time • Professional development on teacher practice and student achievement • Constructive feedback to instructional staff • Establishment of a school improvement planning team And teacher focus on: • Students with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds • Equitable access for students from marginalized populations

  13. Personal Pathways Billinghurst believes that to truly have a chance at educating students means that we have to address the whole child. We recognize that personal connections with students and connecting students to their school community, staff, and peers is essential to allow for a safe and respectful learning environment. This environment is the foundation for personal and academic growth.

  21. Academic Achievement Billinghurst is dedicated to serving the needs of all students, regardless of their educational past, and will provide appropriate coursework to support student achievement.

Family Engagement • Weekly academic emails from core academic teams • Message to Parents that they are welcome at all times in participating in their students education • SPP evening • Informative Evenings-Vape education and Screenagers • Park activities such as Popsicles in the park, park clean up, and possibly Movies in the park. • Parent Club • Fun evenings such as Spaghetti Night, Ice Cream Social, and parent nights.

It Takes a Village! • We need help in supporting student learning here at school! • Students need 8-9 hours of sleep each evening. • Send students with quality high protein meals and snacks. • Students have to be at school to learn. • Know where your kids are at all times. Are they in a safe place? • Educate students about what it means to be an engaged, involved, collaborative student. • Talk with your students about safety and their well being. • Join the PTO. • Reach out with questions.
