Understanding children & young people with ASD • One hour training to enable participants to: • See the world through the eyes of a child with ASD • Be able to describe the features of ASD • Be aware of key challenges for children with ASD
Understanding and supporting children &young people with ASD • Half day training to enable participants to: • See the world through the eyes of a child with ASD • Be able to describe the features of ASD and be aware of key challenges for children with ASD • Understand why and how to support a child by: • Saying less • Slowing down • Being visual • Being predictable
Mental health in children & young people with asd • Half day training to enable participants to: • Recognise the way mental health problem develop and present in children and adolescents with ASD, focusing on anxiety, depression and OCD • Identify ways to support young people and families by: • Managing risk • Raising your concern with young people and parents • Developing a tool kit with young people to help them to manage their emotions
