European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy (EDIT) • Funded for 5 years by the European Commission (until Feb. 2011) • A Network of Excellence aimed at encouraging integration of effort in taxonomy across EU institutions. • Has several ‘Workpackages’ • one is building IT tools for taxonomists (WP5) • another is examining how to bring revisionary taxonomy to the web (WP6)
