Healthier Changes • 2005/2006 - Discontinued all soda, whole milk & hostess products • 2006/2007 - Discontinued ala carte items, offered full lunches to Jr. & Sr. high schools • 2007/2008 - Offering whole wheat bread on menu Using lower sugar content cereal • 2008/2009 – Offer fresh fruit with Breakfast Program Menu items have 0 trans fat
New Healthier Offerings • Elementary LevelOffering Broccoli, Cauliflower and Jicama Sticks. Fish Sticks, low fat Macaroni & Cheese • Jr. High Level Offering healthier Salad and Sandwiches every day Offering baked chips, fish and low fat cookies • High School Level New “Fresh Express” lunch area offering Teriyaki rice bowl made fresh to order including oriental blend mixed vegetables
Modernization of Kitchen Facilities • 2004/05- New kitchen and serving area at UJH • 2005/06- New computer system at all Elementary sites & UJH • 2006/07- New serving area, speed lines & computer system at PJH. Modernization Cafeteria at UHS & new computer system • 2007/08-Two new storage container’s at Baldy View Central kitchen. • 2008/09- Modernization serving area at UHS, Fresh Express, and Smoothie Room • 2009/10- Enter Nutrition information data into computer system. Community, Students, Health Clerks & Food Service Department may look up Nutrition Facts on line.
