  2. Animal Products E-cert- Briefly • NZFSA application for providing Government to Government assurances about the compliance of New Zealand’s animal products with importing country regulatory requirements. • AP E-cert purpose is to track the market eligibility and product status from the time of production until export and the approving of an Export certificate. • Online (secure website / internet) access or an automated data exchange of an XML message via SOAP

  3. AP E-cert deliverables Guide to market eligibility Track product status Generate certificate documents Customise certificates Notify consignments in advance Provide assurance by ensuring authenticity

  4. Anti-Fraud Measures • Firewalls Each E-cert component is protected by a firewall. The firewall is set up in such a way that only traffic essential to E-cert operation is allowed. All other Internet traffic is blocked. Data from and to the E-cert servers is encrypted. The firewalls contain monitoring software to detect break-ins.

  5. Anti-Fraud Measures • Authentication Each E-cert user has their individual username and password for access. No public access is allowed. Usernames and passwords are never transmitted over the Internet in clear text, as all data is encrypted

  6. Anti-Fraud Measures • Data Encryption All web access to the E-cert system is fully encrypted using industry standard 128 bit SSL encryption. The same kind of encryption is employed for secure automated exchange of data
