SMALL INVESTMENTS FUND (SIF) UN GLOBAL COMPACT The largest institutional volunteer initiative of UN Organisations, business world, NGOs and governments for the development of universal principles on human rights, work standarts, environment and fighting with irregularities, started in the year 2000, more than 90 countries andmore than 2,500 participants. HUMAN RIGHTS Principle 7: Business world should support the precautional approaches to environmental problems Principle 8: Support every activity and initiative increasing the environmental responsibility. ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMME • WHY DOES BTC HAVE AN ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMME? • To demonstrate environmental leadership in the provision of additional benefits for the environment of Turkey; • To display good corporate citizenship; • To deliver additional benefits for the environment; • To address stakeholder concerns; • To honour BTC Co’s commitment and public statements on biodiversity; • in recognition of the biodiversity value of the region. • The Environmental Investment Programme encourages sustainability beyond the term of project funding and considers projects to be a joint investment together with villagers, community leaders, NGOs, local and regional authorities, universities, private companies, and other third party donors. “Opportunity for Nature, support for Life”

ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMME • MAIN GOAL AND OBJECTIVES OF THE EIP • Main goal:Protection and enhancement of biodiversity along the BTC pipeline. • Objective: To deliver actions (projects under several key themes) that are of benefit in the promotion and conservation of biodiversity along the BTC pipeline.Secondary aims: • To provide additional benefits, further than mitigation of impacts. • To respond to ongoing initiatives, issues and suggestions raised by stakeholders, to ensure that they are complimentary and avoid duplication. • To achieve maximum benefit from the level of financial input. • To maximise opportunities for wider national and international application of outcomes. • To include international stakeholders in the development of the EIP and reporting on the outcomes of the actions. “Opportunity for Nature, support for Life”

SMALL INVESTMENTS FUND (SIF) Aim of the Project: Promotion of the conservation of natural resources and biodiversity along the Turkish segment of the BTC Pipeline . Operational Focus Areas: 1. Biodiversity and Natural ResourcesConservation for Sustainable Development 2. Sustainable Energy Outputs: 1. Successful or promising models available for natural resource and biodiversity conservation implemented that bring financial, social and/or cultural benefits for local stakeholders. 2.
