Eco Challenge EventsCreating Awareness for a Sustainable Surfing Culture • Event Proposal
Vision To host a family-friendly, community based sustainable surfing lifestyle festival In partnership with:
Concept All it takes is goodwill and an inclination to think differently about: Waste, water, power and the myriad other systems that support a well-managed event. With the objective to leave a legacy at each venue, that will support the community.
Aim * Showcase to all stakeholders - including, sponsors, event organisers, City of Gold Coast and participants - that hosting environmentally sustainable events is not only possible, but is practical & cost effective; * Attract members of the public from Queensland & Northern NSW to sustainable events on the Gold Coast; * Raise the profile of corporate social responsibility for the community;
Aim * Fundraise for community organisations; * These events are highly topical and increase potential to gain media attention for your organisation;
Legacy Climate Wave Enterprises has procured the services of Coefficiency who will donate an on-site assessment of your organisation, resource utilisation and baseline environmental measures valued at $2,200. In addition MacEco will assess the venue with regards to implementing renewable energy.
Legacy We will arrange for your venue to receive a permanent Australian accredited 25 years guaranteed solar power system which will save the club thousands of dollars as well as helping the club to become environmentally sustainable with immediate savings on your energy bill or a plan that will suit your organisation like our pilot project at Kawana Waters Surf Life Saving Club.
Testimonial Kane Domio President Kawana Waters SLSC Recently I was contacted by Climate Wave Enterprises to consider the possibility of holding Surfrider Foundation's Eco Challenge sustainable event at Kawana Waters SLSC. Also in conjunction with the event to leave a green legacy for the Club by installing solar power system on the roof of Kawana SLSC to assist with our ever increasing spend on electricity. Greg Howell, Climate Wave and Gerald MacKenzie, MacEco discussed the process and possibilities, Gerald has the ability to explain in layman terms the complexities of solar generation; he is well versed in the limitations of solar power in a commercial environment. His background in renewable energy covers many years and his technical knowledge coupled with his communication skills easily led me to recommend to my committees to install solar. I was impressed that MacEco and the close association with Climate Wave Enterprises recommended the very best solar system for our situation; they are independent specialists and therefore have the ability to advise and deliver with impunity. As President of the Kawana Waters SLSC it was my position to liaise with both our committees to determine the feasibility and possible benefits. After due process and the very capable assistance from both parties and a multitude of questions we are extremely happy to announce that Kawana Waters SLSC are not only going solar but have a legacy to future generation of renewable energy and coupled with an exciting ongoing fundraising partnership. If you require any information please call me personally. Yours sincerely
