  3. Mission statement • We chose to create a land for people to get away from the sorrows of the world and discover a new, and better life.

  4. Summary statement • We are all about individuality, creativity, and success! • We don’t hold anyone back from their dreams and we encourage everyone to achieve their best.

  5. Environment • Nani Kahakai is a island in the Caribbean • The land is very undulating and there is very little flat landscape. • There is a volcano, Pilikia on the east side of Nani Kahakai. The volcano was once active but has been inactive for several years. • Ahi beach is also on the east side bordering Pilikia, the beach sand is a light orange due to the chemical reaction to the volcano

  6. Apparel • Since the temperature is always hot female citizens are able to wear jean skirts, jean Bermuda shorts and any short sleeved plain shirt during the day on Monday-Friday. • On Saturday it is your choice to wear your selection (dress down day). • On Sunday, everyone must dress in formal wear; in their nice skirt ,white shirt for girls, and black sandals for girls, and tan dress pants, nice white shirt, tie, and black sandals for boys.

  7. Population control • People are only allowed to have 2 children. • If people have more kids, they will be put up for adoption.

  8. Government • F.O.I. stands for Founder of Ideas, in other words the person who is in charge through out the year. • Every 5 years a new F.O.I. is elected by the community • Every 2 months the whole community comes together to discuss the issues going on within the community. • The F.O.I has selected helpers that take care of the money, discipline, and making sure that the community runs smoothly.

  9. Laws of Nani Kahakai • You must follow rules of the F.O.I • No violence is permitted and it will not be tolerated. • Do not take what is not yours. • All children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. • Appropriate apparel must be worn depending on season.

  10. Daily Schedule for kids 6-16 • On Monday-Friday, Children go to school and after do homework. • On Monday-Thursday they also get set for the next day and go to bed at 8:00 p.m. unless your over 10, in which case you can go to bed at 8:30. • On Saturdays, kids go to extracurricular activities from 12-3, come back for lunch until 4, and then continue with extracurricular activities until 7. • Extracurricular activity schedules are mailed to the children according to their likes and dislikes, and what they have been signed up for. • On Sundays, it is family fun days and they do whatever the parents have chosen for that day. • Every last Sunday of the month a carnival takes place in the town square.

  11. Daily schedules for ages 17+ • Monday-Friday all citizens must report to jobs according to when the job starts when it finishes. • Fridays are half days. On this days citizens are able to leave work early if wanted and can finish errands or get miscellaneous things done. • Saturdays are R&R days. Citizens are able to relax and take they day off from the long week of work. (substitute workers will fill in for the needed jobs) • Sundays- for all families this is a family fun day. For citizens that live alone this is a day to get ready for work the next day and prepare for the next week. • Every last Sunday of the month a carnival takes place in the town square.

  12. Disobeying rules and punishment/ release • Citizens are given 3 warnings when crimes are committed. After the 3rd warning they are put into confinement until the release ship ports. When the release ship ports we load the prisoners to be sent away to another land. • When disobeying small minor rules, citizens under 17 are taken aside and chastised. • When disobeying minor rules citizens over 17 are suspended from work and all activities for 1 week (time can vary depending on how serious rule breaking was)

  13. Jobs (how they are appointed) • Once citizens under 17 finish lower school they are given a list of jobs they would fit them according to how they were observed throughout their 16 years of schooling. • The children are able to choose from that selected list of jobs • If they are undecided elders will choose for them depending on what jobs need employs at the moment

  14. Economy, trade, business, transportation • We trade and import items all by water. We have several ports on the island and we also mass produce boats and ships. • All of the food we take in along with other various items we store in our ware house. • All citizens transport themselves by bike • Citizens get their bike by their 5th birthday. Before that time all citizens ride with their parents.
