Warez My File? Website Critique
Overview • Transferring files autonomously between personal servers. • Uses servelets written in Java. • Interesting side research: • Explore interactions between densely populated personal servers.
Key Challenges & Pressing Unknowns • Connecting two personal servers. • Waiting on software needed for personal server to initiate connection. • In the mean-time, working on PCs. • Having server decide which files are best to request. • Currently hard coded request.
Where Does the Time Go? • Querying and file transfer has been completed. • Working on UI. • Working on testing.
Lessons Learned • Some information on SOAP requests. • Description of the code written so far for Java. • Could be a little more clear about program flow. • More in-depth comments would be useful.
Where Did They Put That? • Update 2. • How is the XML stuff working? • How is a query actually carried out? • Any consideration of how this might affect society? • Legality? • Ethical questions? • Contact information (who do I email?) • One link didn’t have permissions set • /www/high-level-overview/high-level-overview.html
