  15. One of the outcome • Having in mind that : • IEC 61968-9 Ed 2 will have an interoperability test in September 2011

  16. Ultimately UC should be expressed in UML Use Case Definition (Text Template) IEC PAS 62559 « Based on » IEC PAS provides a UC « template »Automatisation from Template to UML ? UML Use Case • Having in mind that : • Use Case Management Life Cycle is an issue (like with CIM Model)

We find Uses Cases in several places using several notations… • IEC TC57 WG14 • 61968-12 dedicated to UC was cancelled as it was too difficult to manage ! • Each 61968-x part has a Use Case section now on UCA TC57 web site • It is based on these use cases that Message types are derived and tested during IOP • EPRI repositoryhttp://www.smartgrid.epri.com/Repository/Repository.aspx • NIST SGIP http://collaborate.nist.gov/twikisggrid/bin/view/SmartGrid/IKBUseCases • SCE http://www.sce.com/CustomerService/smartconnect/industry-resource-center/use-case- chart.htm • More use cases worldwide with SG demonstrators

Next Steps • IEC TC57/TC13 workshop (May 25th) : Use Case Good Working PracticesHarmonization of CIM and DLMS/COSEMIOP of 61968-2 in september 2011 • IEC TC8 meeting in June 8-9th (SCE host)Review TC8 PAS to get it as an IS as soon as possibleMethodology and tools requirements for managing UC based on Best practices • In TC57 57/1117/NP : System Interfaces & communication protocol profiles relevant forsystems connected to the smart grid.
