  1. Over 40 honorees and friends of the “ED”ies joined together to dedicate the 2010 and 2011 plaques.

  2. Ken Darsney, Chairperson of the “ED”ies welcomed the group and told them they are now a part of history.

  3. The 2010 and 2011 will be hung with the rest of the plaques in the main hallway at the NH Department of Education.

  4. Doris Barnes, now 100, has taught for 62 years in the classroom and has worked on many projects to benefit public education. The concept of the Wall of Fame originated from Doris.

  6. Virginia M. Barry Ph.D., Commissioner of Education; Fred Bramante, “ED”ies Board Member; and Larry Johnston (pictured), of McDonald’s Restaurants unveil the plaques.

  7. Commissioner Barry congratulated the recipients and thanked everyone who works to provide a quality education to each student in New Hampshire.

  8. Message from the New Hampshire Department of Education The “ED”ies is a unique and important piece of the educational landscape of New Hampshire. The organization provides broad, public recognition for some of our exemplary schools and outstanding educators using measures that go beyond the simple analysis of test scores. The “ED”ies serves as a catalyst to highlight the outstanding efforts of those being honored, using their example to inspire and motivate others throughout the state. By recognizing the state’s many excellent educators and exemplary schools, we hope to encourage more people to consider a career in education. Properly guided, awards programs can reach out to stakeholders and strengthen positive messages about the teaching profession.

  9. Larry addressed the group stating it was an honor to be involved in the “ED”ies. (McDonald’s Restaurants of NH have supported the “ED”ies since 1994)
