  3. BMP’s Continued • There is a Hand Out With a Set Of Recommendations Available, But No Rule. • Prefer that Discharges Be Down a Sanitary Sewer at the Location. • May Also Transport to an Approved Treatment/Disposal System • Fair Warning-Most POTW’s Will Not Take This Wastewater

  4. More Guidelines for Discharge Of Carpet Wastes • The Wastewater Must Not Contain Toxic/Exotic Chemicals. • Must Be in a 5.5 to 9.0 pH Range • Maximum at One Site of 150 Gallons a Week • Filter the Wastewater to Remove Grit and Lint

  5. Potable Water Well Protection • Carpet Wastes Must Not Be Discharged: • Within 100 feet of a Public Water Supply Well (Rule 62-555 FAC). • Within 75 feet of a Private water Supply Well (Dept of Health Rule) • Within 75 Feet of Surface Waters • Where Ever Such Discharge Would Cause nuisance Conditions.
