It makes you pause and wonder… Would students benefit from this kind of learning?

I will access up-to-date information - you have a textbook that is 5 years old.
I will immediately know when I misspell a word - you have to wait until it’s graded.
I will learn how to care for technology by using it – you will read about it.
I will see math problems in 3D – you will do the odd problems.
I will see math problems in 3D – you will do the odd problems. I will create artwork and poetry and share it with the world – you will share yours with the class.

I will have 24/7 access – you have the entire class period. I will access the most dynamic information – yours will be printed and photocopied.
I will communicate with leaders and experts using email – you will wait for Friday’s speaker.

I will collaborate with my peers from around the world – you will collaborate with peers in your classroom. I will take my learning as far as I want – you must wait for the rest of the class.
Can you teach without technology? Yes, but why would you want to?
From Cynthia, “I learned more by sharing than by searching.” From Mona, “You actually get to learn with each other and help others learn.” From Michael, “I really liked the use of blogs and forums for this project. It really keeps everyone connected even outside of school.”
From me: Vanja both wanted, and demanded a learning conversation. For me it was wonderful to see a student expecting more from her peers, or should I say, from her community of learners.
Wiki’s http://sciencealive.wikispaces.com/
"I thought this was a great project because it was always fun, and when you needed inspiration, it was easy to just click on someone else’s page, and see all the neat stuff that they’ve done, and then it makes you want to make your page just as good.”
Learning is messy, Sometimes…. I let technology supersede pedagogy.
Learning is messy, Sometimes…. The technology didn’t work.
Learning is messy, Sometimes…. Things moved very slowly.
Learning is messy, …but digital texts changes things. Students will edit more, link more, seek more sources, be reflective, read each others work, comment more, question more, and challenge each other.
