  3. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) • Continuous Professional Development (CPD): A ½ day or 1 day programme usually organised by the various Faculties. • Residents must attend at least 2 per year.

  4. Revision Courses & Update Courses • Revision Courses: • Programmes for week organised by the Faculty for Residents who are preparing to write their final exams. • Programmes is usually very detailed sometimes includes Clinicals and Mock Exams. • Final year Residents must attend 1 revision course before they write their final exams • Update Courses: • A two or three day programme organised by the Faculty as part of its calendar of activities. • Every Resident must attend 1 Update course per year.

  5. Workshops • A programme for a day or two with hands on components. • Can be organised by a Faculty or the College e.g. Basic Life Support.

  6. Symposia, Public & Occasional Lectures • Symposia usually take the form of a panel discussing a particular topic of importance. • Public Lectures are organised occasionally by the College as a form of advocacy for the Public. Topics are usually general and not medical. • Occasional Lectures are usually medical and organised for medical professionals.

  7. Mandatory Courses • Evidence-Based Medicine • Diploma in Project Design and Management

Medical Knowledge Fiesta (MKF) • The College, in collaboration with the African Partners Medical (APM) and the Ghana Physicians and Surgeons Foundation (GPSF) have been organising this yearly conference since 2011. • It is a 4 day intensive conference and brings together experts in the various disciplines of medicine. • This conference is usually held in September of every year either in Accra

  9. ANNUAL GENERAL AND SCIENTIFIC MEETING (AGSM) • 5 days of different activities organised by the College • Day I and II: Pre conference workshop by various Faculties • Day III: Opening Ceremony and Induction of Newly Qualified Members and Elected Fellows & Qualified Fellows • Day IV: Scientific Sessions • Day V: Business Meeting for Fellows and Members • Usually organized in December

  10. MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL • College programmes are usually accredited for CPD credits by the Medical and Dental Council.
