The verb doler The verb doler is like the verb gustar. It is a verb that works ‘back to front’ when compared with its English equivalent. Remember, it is a stem-changing o > ue verb. If one thing hurts you, the verb is singular in Spanish. Doler Me duele(n) Te duele(n) Le duele(n) Nos duele(n) Os duele(n) Les duele(n) Me duele la garganta – I have a sore throat. If more than one thing hurts you, the verb is plural in Spanish. Me duelen los dientes – I have a toothache.
