  2. How does being here tie into “Big Picture” of the vision YOU have for your town? • Bringing people with you. (political environment) • Tree meaning and message control • Comprehensive / Master Plans • Leverage strategically with new blood OR the old willing to change.

Funding strategies • Think mission and vision alignment first, and a proactive willingness to divorce from whats always been done • Find 5 new companies….court them in the late winter / very early spring. • According to several studies on organizational behavior (and Guidestar): Honesty, transparency and project urgency will always trump whatever else “we” think is most important.

  4. Beauty drives Development • Trees Hide blight … as well as industrial zones that do not move off square

  5. How small projects can be strategic centerpieces of mission. • Alter your mission or vision statement without officially “changing them” • Latrobe “The most livable, walkable, bikable, sustainable and family-friendly small town in PA.”
