Started on 3rd February. • I am working on the Accelerator Fault Tracking (AFT) project (previously LSAT – LHC System Availability Tracking). • Goals: Improve the quality of recording and tracking of faults during LHC operation. This will allow to better quantify the share of different systems in LHC downtime and, therefore, help to improve the machine availability in the mid/long term. • My contribution: Implementation of the first stage of the AFT for the start-up of the LHC in 2015. Collaboration with BE-CO-DA section (Bldg. 966). • Started with manually looking into fault data and extended the so-called cardiogram with July 2012.
Cardiogram (example) Fill number
Cardiogram for July has been initially analyzed, for inconsistencies and missing information. • Next steps: • Create a list of missing information in the data sources and improvements for the cardiogram. • Extend the excel based cardiogram to have a good pre-prototype of the output of the future AFT. • Use APIs to automatically extract data from Post Mortem, elogbook and loggingdatabase for 2012. • Join BE-CO-DA programming team to work on the implementation of the AFT.
