  1. Michael Cohen - Team Manager • Brandon Bond - User Testing • Kimberley Dietemann - Documentation • Jennifer Sloan - Design • Kun Wang - Development

  2. Problem Overview • Lists become too overwhelming to the user • Current task tracking apps require too much data entry • Reminders are based on exact location/time, which often doesn't help the user

  3. Solution Overview • Use graphics to represent tasks • Notify the user when a tasks can be completed close by • Prioritize and filter tasks to show what is most important to get done

  4. Presentation Overview • Representative Tasks and Scenarios • Prototype Demonstration • Current UI Description • Design Evolution • Future Enhancements

  5. Representative Tasks • Task #1: Add a task "Get money at the atm" and be reminded by a representative graphic. • Scenario: User is about to leave for the day and knows he needs to get money for his date tonight. He adds the task "get money" and can then see the appropriate graphic on the task list.

  6. Representative Tasks • Task #2: View "Grocery" task details and be automatically reminded when close by to a grocery store. • Scenario: User remembers he will be doing errands today so he enables the application to remind him when close by. When he is driving he then gets reminded to get groceries because he is within 5 miles of Safeway.

  7. Representative Tasks • Task #3: View what tasks can be completed within walking distance. • Scenario: User has some free time while he is on lunch break. So he filters his tasks by distance to within 1 mile, narrowing his list down to two tasks that he can now easily complete.

  8. Current UI - Main Screen • - Shows graphics of each task • - + graphic to add a new task • - able to filter by either deadline or distance through a drop down

  9. Current UI - Add Task • Camera takes up majority of screen and will automatically create graphic • Have the option to enter text if not possible to take a picture

  10. Current UI - Task Details • Shows a sub-list is one exists • Shows closest locations which can be selected to either call or get directions • Can check a task as complete or delete • Can add a deadline, comments and enable proximity reminder

  11. Prototype Demonstration 1. Add task "Get money at atm" 2. View Grocery List and enable proximity reminder 3. Complete all tasks with 5 miles

  12. What was left out • All features needing GPS: - wont actually remind user - cant show actual closest location - directions to a task • Adding task using camera • Sorting is only live for distance used in task

  13. Functionality Evolution TaskMan

  14. Functionality Evolution • TaskMan Create Route View Task

  15. Functionality Evolution • TaskMan • Create Route • View Task

  16. Functionality Evolution

  17. Interface Evolution • TaskMan • Create Route • View Task

  18. Interface Evolution • TaskMan • Create Route • View Task • Quick View • (long hold) • Detailed View • (quick tap)

  19. Interface Evolution • TaskMan • Create Route • View Task • Quick View • (long hold) • Detailed View • (quick tap)

  20. Interface Evolution

  21. Resulting Design

  22. Future Design • Would consider bringing back quick view if we did user testing with high-fi prototype • Further development directions/map feature • Possible other types of way to add tasks (drawing own graphic) • Further development history

  23. Complete tasks more efficiently using graphical representations and location based reminders to make sure you always know what needs to get done!
