Marxist Tootsie Roll Poker. Rules. Play “Rock-Paper-Scissors” while betting 1 or 2 tootsie rolls on the game’s outcome. Keep playing and betting. Never stop playing unless you lose all your tootsie rolls. At certain points in the game I will raise the amount of tootsie rolls to be betted.

Karl Marx • Born in Germany in 1818 • Economic philosopher who argued against capitalism • Marx's theories about society, economics and politics are collectively known as “Marxism”
Capitalism • Private industries compete for profit with little or no government regulation. (Rock-Paper-Scissors) • -Marx argued that capitalism led to an unfair class struggle between the rich (more tootsie rolls) and the working classes (few tootsie rolls) • In his book, Communist Manifesto, he encouraged all workers to revolt and create a new economic system called socialism.
Socialism • Resources are distributed equally by the government to create a classless society. • He felt people would learn to live for equality and not greed and profit. • His ultimate goal of a worker’s revolution was something called communism.
Communism • Asystem in which there is a classless society without any government, just a leader that would dictate all aspects of life. • These theories led such leaders as Lenin and Stalin in Russia to revolt and try to establish a communist nation and a totalitarian state. • Totalitarianism: a form of government, which a one party dictatorship attempts to regulate every aspect of the lives of citizens.
