DAITSS • Strictly modeled on OAIS • “Dark” – no online public interface • Implements format normalization and forward migration at time of Ingest • DAITSS 1.0 partly PREMIS conformant • DAITSS 2.0 entirely conformant
PREMIS Support In DAITSS 1 • Intellectual Entities and File Objects • Bitstream objects but non-conformant • AIP & DIP Descriptors = METS + local DAITSS schema • Could supply most PREMIS values by mapping from DAITSS stored values • No Environment or Significant Properties
PREMIS Support In DAITSS 2 • AIP & DIP Descriptors = PREMIS-in-METS • validated with Schematron • Implement Representation Objects • if any SIP file(s) normalized or migrated, new representation created • Make BitStream Objects conformant • follow definition in the data dictionary
Events in DAITSS 2 • Crucial to Ingest workflow • relies on Events to know what’s been done • Can Ingest external Events • e.g. from TIPR Exchange Package • Events occuring after Ingest (i.e. fixity checks) • recorded and saved • added to Descriptor at time of Dissemination
