YOUR WILLINGNESS TO ACT COLLECTIVELY MADE THE DIFFERENCE! 800 WEA members lobbied in Olympia 66,045 e-mails to legislators about health care takeover 4,000 members statewide participating in local rallies 8,522 members visited the www.ourvoicewashingtonea.org webpage the last day of the legislative session 100 Riverside members lobbied in Olympia!! 1/8th ! Riverside members sent 1,000postcards written at the March 19 rally, along with hundreds of others sent individually by members. Riverside members placed numerous phone calls to their legislators.

WE ARE NOT ALONE What can we learn from other states? Candidate Scott Walker (Wisconsin) did not campaign to take away collective bargaining rights. Candidate Scott Walker supporters (Koch brothers, Republican Governor Association, Citizens United) out spent his opponent 3 to 1. Governor Walker swiftly moved to repeal all bargaining rights for school employees and made it more difficult to maintain a union
