PROPERTIES OF LOVE . B ears, Believes, Hopes, Endures All T hings ( 1 Cor 13:4-7 ). Love is tenacious, it “never fails”. Love never tires in the pursuit of doing what is best for others. God loves with an everlasting love ( Jer 31:3 ; cf. Psa 136:1 , 4-9 , 23-26 ).

  1. PROPERTIES OF LOVE Bears, Believes, Hopes, Endures All Things (1 Cor 13:4-7)

  2. Love is tenacious, it “never fails” • Love never tires in the pursuit of doing what is best for others. • God loves with an everlasting love (Jer 31:3; cf. Psa 136:1, 4-9, 23-26). • God offers that love today in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom 8:37-39).

  3. LOVE BEARS ALL THINGS • Love will cover an offense with silence, to protect (1 Pet 4:8; Prov 10:12). • Love is willing to put up with a lot to do what is best for someone else.

  4. LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS • Love chooses to believe the best in others(Heb 5:8-11; 10:25; 6:7-9). • Love does not quickly attribute evil motives to character or actions.

  5. LOVE HOPES ALL THINGS • Love refuses to accept failure as final. • Love for the churches caused Paul to hope for their spiritual growth (1 Thess 4:1-8; 2:19).

  6. LOVE ENDURES ALL THINGS • Love perseveres; it never stops bearing, believing & hoping all things. • Love for Christ will endure trials & ill-treatment to keep the faith (Matt 10:22; 1 Peter 2:20). • Love gave Jesus the strength to endure (John 1:10-13; Isa 53:3; Luke 19:14; 20:13-15; John 3:31-32).

  7. God’s love will bearwith us, believe in us, hope for us & endure all things with us (Heb 1:5-6; 1 Cor 1:7-9) “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love”(1 John 4:7-8).

Forgiveness of Sin: Salvation! • Faith in Jesus Christ through the Gospel John 8:24; 20:30-31; Rom 1:16; 10:9-10; Mark 16:16; Heb 11:6 • Repent or turn from sins Luke 24:46-47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30-31 • Confess faith in Christ Matt 10:32-33; Acts 8:36-38; Rom 10:9-10 • Be baptized (immersed) in water Matt 28:19; Mk 16:16; Acts 2:38; Rom 6:3-4; 1 Pet 3:21 • Live in obedient faith Heb 5:8-9; 1 Peter 1:14; Rev 2:10
