  2. Reflexive Verb • Reflexive Verb: verb in which someone does something to themselves. • Ejemplo: He washes his face. I brush my hair.

  3. Important • A reflexive verb must always have a “reflexive pronoun” with it.

  4. Reflexive Pronouns • Me (myself) Nos (ourselves) • Te (yourself) Os (yourselves) • Se (himself, herself, yourself) Se (yourselves, their selves)

  5. Pronoun Placement • If the reflexive verb has been conjugated, the reflexive pronoun must go before the reflexive verb. • Example: Me cepillo el pelo. (I brush my hair.) reflexive pronoun conjugated verb

  6. Reflexive Verb Examples • Me lavo. (I wash myself.) • Te cepillas el pelo. (You brush your hair.)

  7. To make it negative... • simply put a “no” before the reflexive pronoun. • Ejemplo: Me lavo. (I wash myself.) • No me lavo. (I don’t wash myself.)

  8. Body Parts & Clothing • When using a reflexive verb with a body part or article of clothing, you must always use the definite article (el, la, los, las) before the body part or clothing. • Ejemplos: Me lavo la cara. (I wash my face.) • Me pongo la chaqueta. (I put on a jacket.)

  9. Reflexive Infinitives • When you are going to use a reflexive verb in it’s infinitive form (unconjugated) you can have the reflexive pronoun attached to the end of the infinitive, or before the conjugated verb.

  10. Reflexive Infinitive Examples • The reflexive pronoun will be added to the end of the infinitive to make one word. • Ella va a sentarse (She’s going to sit down) • Yo voy a mirarme (I’m going to look at myself) • Tú vas a mirarte(You’re going to look at yourself infinitive reflexive pronoun
