  1. Symptoms Of Vocal Cord Injury And Its Treatment People especially those who love singing or their profession depends on their voice should know how to do proper care of their voice. They have to realize that they may lose the quality of their voice once their vocal cords get damaged. Putting too much strain on it can cause a major injury to their vocal cords and they can lose their voice. The best things that singers can do is to take care of their vocal cords in the same way as they take care of their health and well-being. Voice disorders can be caused by different factors, events, physical ailments and illness. The vast majority of this problem is caused by the factors which are not life-threatening and can be cured easily with some rests. Almost every injury or disorder in your vocal cords may result in different symptoms, and there is no any single symptom is related to a specific disorder of the larynx. For example, hoarse voice, limitations in pitch and loudness, shortness of breath, increased vocal effort may be a sign of disorders of the larynx. This change in your voice can be from singing, overuse of voice or some medical disorders which include acid reflux disease, upper respiratory tract viral infection, cold, and some other unusual causes. These causes some abnormal change and make your vocal cords injured. This voice disorder can be to anyone, but the main concern is that the person is unable to speak properly. Most of the time, this problem gets resolved itself by the time, but if residing for more than 2 weeks it should be evaluated by a voice professional or an otolaryngologist. The treatment of your vocal cord injury depends on their root cause. Sometimes, the experts only advice to give rest to your voice or modifying the way how it is used. The otolaryngologist may suggest you about some changes in your voice usage behavior, and in some instances, they also recommend for a surgery if there is a lesion in your vocal cord, such as a polyp is identified. However, the surgery is performed only in some rare cases, but the patients are also suggested to undergo voice therapy before the surgery. This will help them understand how they should talk after their complete recovery. The non-surgical method for modifying the normal voice abuses include some singing or speaking exercises and natural herbs and medicines for strengthening the vocal cords. It also includes the cleanliness of your vocal anatomy for the treatment of the raspy voice.
