  2. Step 1: Read out Loud Reading out loud helps you identify the errors that would otherwise go unnoticed. Hearing the words could help you pay attention to homonyms if any.

  3. Step 2: Check the Facts & figures Checking the facts and figures is a crucial step in proofreading. Making a mistake regarding facts and figures will put you in a poor picture leading to embarrassment. It may affect your credibility as well.

  4. Step 3: Check for Spelling or Typographical errors Spelling and Typographical errors have the tendency to distract the readers and make them lose focus. It may put the reader in a position where it is difficult to comprehend the meaning of your work.

  5. Step 4: Check for Grammar & Punctuations Here comes the main point! Everything might seem lined up perfectly but in reality, it’s simply not the case. This step has quite a lot of things to work on and requires more time and focus to sort out errors. You may create a separate checklist for this step to effectively work on it

  6. Step 5: Check the Structure flow & language consistency Check the structure flow right from the Introduction. Examine every paragraph and if there is any inconsistency in the usage of language or the flow of the content, try correcting it immediately.
