  1. Leads WebQuest By: Daisy Calixtro, Kalista Routh, Derrick Ester, Emily Dawson, Niko Brown

  2. Scenic Lead • Definition • A scenic lead starts with the description of the scene surrounding the event. • Example • ”The lights shine down and the music surrounds her as she spins across the stage into the arms of her partner. The audience roars its approval as the music slows and the curtains begin to close.” • This relates to the Mane Attraction, it helps describe the environment of events and it hooks the reader. http://cubreporters.org/leads.html

  3. Storytelling Lead -It is introducing the characters, ideas, and the setting. This causes the readers to feel certain emotions. -"Get on the ground," a man holding a gun screamed. "I'll blow your heads off if you move." -This is relevant to The Mane Attraction because it makes people want to know what is happening.

  4. Punch Lead A punch lead is fiery and blunt. It is meant to bewilder and astonish the reader. An example of this would be, “The Governor is dead. You will continue to live your lives as you have.” It’s relevant to The Mane Attraction, because we can use punch leads in our articles to grab the attention of our viewers. It is especially significant if we want them to read certain articles due to their importance, ex. breaking news. http://successfulweb.com/resources/content/content-ip-lead-samples.shtml http://www.uiltexas.org/journalism/resources-forms/feature-leads

  5. OPPOSITE LEAD! An opposite lead is when you cite one point of view and then cite an opposing point of view. This is meant to keep the you reading by starting off with an interesting conflict. You can pick an initial side of the argument and develop it more as you read. This is important to The Mane Attraction because it is an interesting way to start an article. EX: Dr. Mister thinks that cellphones are “ruining” todays youth, but according to Professor Sir “cell phones are the only thing keeping this world running.”
