  2. State bird The state bird is the Cardinal .It was adopted in 1943.It was chose because it is the most common bird and it year round. The males are red and the females are brown.

  3. The state flower • The state flower is the Dogwood .The dogwood was adopted in 1941because it is found in all regions. It has a pinkish whitish color.

  4. The State Tree The State Tree is the Loblolly Pine Tree. It was adopted in 1963. It was adopted because it was use to build things and it is the most common trees.

  5. The State Mineral • The State Mineral is Gold . It was adopted in 2011.It was adopted because it was found in north Carolina .

  6. The State Song • The State Song is The Old North . It was adopted in 1927.

  7. The State Seal • The State Seal is the Esse Quam Videri . It was adopted in 1983.It was adopted because everything on the Seal is important to North Carolina.

  8. The State Flag • The State Flag is red and blue . It was adopted in 1885.

  9. The State Plant • The State Plant is the Venus Flytrap is a plant that eats insects when they land in in it mouth.

  10. The State Vegetable • The State Vegetable is the sweet potato. It was adopted in 1995.It was adopted because it had vitamins A and C and low fat.
