Problem / Need A simple and affordable aeroponic plant growth chamber. Direct applications: • Study effects of sound on root growth and healing Other applications: • Study pest and disease effects on plants • High school educational purposes
Requirements Functional • Completely controlled environment • Must be able to monitor environmental conditions • Must be controllable via a web interface Non-functional • Easy to use • Sturdy • Easy to maintain • Visually appealing user interface
User Interface • ASP.NET app to enable remote control of settings • Chamber environment will be monitored and periodic data will be stored in SQL database • Will enable on demand graphical display of various monitored data • Will be visually appealing and easy to use • Will be secure, allowing only administrator accounts to change any growth chamber settings
Risks 1. Some of the existing components may not work Resolution: • Allot money for this purpose only • Find more sources for money 2. Exceeding the project budget Resolution: • Use wired server link rather than wireless • Build only one chamber instead of two
