Our mission The mission of the MHA program is to develop effective healthcare managers and leaders through education, research, and service to advance the health of all populations, especially rural or underserved communities. Case Competitions
Case competitions • National and regional opportunities • Always looking for “volunteers” • Excellent opportunity to network, strengthen public speaking skills, teamwork, understanding of coursework, etc., etc. • Valuable addition to your résumé • But, time consuming and stressful Case Competitions
Recent competitions • National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) • Everett V. Fox Case Competition • This year it will be October 15th – October 18th, in Miami, Florida during NAHSE’s 28th Annual Educational Conference • Our best showing was 3rdof 22 graduate programs in 2011 Case Competitions
Recent competitions (cont’d) • North Texas chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) • Typically held in November of each year in Irving • We have participated when invited but yet to bring home the trophy Case Competitions
Recent competitions (cont’d) • University of Alabama – Birmingham Health Administration Case Competition • This year it will be February 26th to 28thin Birmingham, Alabama • We have participated three times; last year, we finished in the top 6 of 35 teams Case Competitions
Recent competitions (cont’d) • George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management Healthcare Case Study Competition in Houston sponsored by the University of Texas School of Public Health • Typically held in April of each year in Houston • We placed 2nd in the first year, and 1st last year Case Competitions
