  3. 3 • Katherine Mansfield Beauchamp Murry (14 October 1888 – 9 January 1923) was a prominent modernist writer of short fiction who was born and brought up in colonial New Zealand and wrote under the pen name of Katherine Mansfield. At 19, Mansfield left New Zealand and settled in the United Kingdom, where she became a friend of modernist writers such as D.H. Lawrence and Virginia Woolf. In 1917 she was diagnosed with extrapulmonarytuberculosis, which led to her death at the age of 34.

  4. 4 Summary • This story is about doll’s house when Mrs. Hay wanted to back to her town and she was a sweet and generous woman .she send a doll’s house to Burnell’s home .This house was put in the yard by two servants . It has drawing room dining room ,kitchen and two bed rooms . All the rooms were papered . Red carpet covered all of the floors and it has a cradle , a stove and big jug . This house was painted by yellow and green color . Kezia liked the lamp more than any things , it stood in the middle of the dining room like a real lamp . It

  5. 5 Summary • Has mother and father doll’s how were sitting in the drawing room and children was asleep upstairs , tomorrow isabel said I want to tell a story in the school because I’m oldest and her sister accepted it , she described it . During this matter Kelvey’s girls that were poor family and their mothers was washer woman and their father was in prison but were not allowed even to spoke to them . Burnell’s mother allowed to child’s school to visit doll’s house except Kelvey’s girls .Finally ,they went and saw it .

  6. summary • While they saw it , aunt’s Burnell came and said you are not allowed to them . Run away and went out .After that Kelvey’s went to near paddocks and creek, said I’ve seen the little lamp . • Plot : the story is about the doll’s house that sending for the Burnell’s children .The Burnell’s • children like to tell the fame of it to girl’s school first: Burnell’s house Setting : 9

Setting :second :school 7 • it was summer • Climax : when aunt’s burnell’s come and cry to kelvey’s girl : run a way • Theme : difference between rang or rank poor people or rich people .The children like to quarrel to each other .when it is happened where in there is descrimination with low level of society • Moral point : respect to all people other point all of the poor people should be important for other people both rich and poor and pay attention to children immaculate world.

Style of story : modernism • Some character : Isabel , Lottie and Kezia are the Burnell’s children . • Round :Isabel is the old of girl’s Burnell she try to tell the house story for the classmates . Flat : Mrs. hay or aunt Breyl who is sending the doll’s house .Finally Kezia decide to invite the Kelveys for seeing the house and her mother and pat too. Dynamic : the classmate or the girl’s school are eager to know about the doll’s house . Symbol : 1- doll’s house show : kind ,sweet and generous of Mrs. Hay 8
