What is TRI-MEweb? • EPA’s TRI electronic reporting system • Web-based application on CDX • No more software to download • Can be accessed anywhere there is an internet connection • Enhanced Security • File format is extensible mark-up language (XML) instead of flat file
Why TRI-MEweb? • Built-in data corrective software • No need to test operating system/software compatibility • Application changes can be made instantly • Will lead to earlier data releases due to increases in internet reporting • 95% reported electronically
RY 2009 TRI-MEweb • Approximately 19,642 (94%) facilities used the TRI-MEweb application to submit 78,297 (95.6%) chemical forms for RY 2009. • 62.15% of TRI Facilities and 67.1% forms at the end of RY2008 were submitted using TRI-MEweb • TRI-MEcd/desktop was retired in RY2008 • Number of facilities reporting on all media was down 7% (5% in previous years) • 8% decrease of Form R and 9% decrease in Form A submissions.
RY2009 TRI-MEweb Issues • Users had trouble finding/generating their Electronic Signature Agreement (ESA) • CDX has recently changed from SSL to TLS encryption. • CDX login page will not appear and seems to be off-line • If you are using Internet Explorer, go the Tools menu and select Internet Options. “Use TLS 1.0” should be checked. • Confusion between transmitting form to CDX to be certified and certifying form to be submitted to EPA for approval
RY2010 Solutions • CDX email will be sent to CDX inbox AND CO’s email address with PDF attachment of ESA. • TRI-MEweb Troubleshooting guide included in RY2010 RFI. • TRI-MEweb transmission, certification and verification process flow has been redesigned.
Getting Ready for TRI-MEweb RY2010 • Release Date of: January 2011 • Technical Contacts will receive an email with a facility access key • If they didn’t, either contact the TRI regional coordinator/CDX Helpdesk or use the last year’s technical contact name and phone number method to access the application.
